Cabin Decor Toboggan Shelf 2

This old toboggan was purchased at an antique store in Minocqua Wisconsin. It was very tall, so I had to cut off the bottom. It still has its original roping on the sides.

I then made a base out of pine and added four additional, slotted shelves. The sides are also made from pine and I stenciled and cut two pine trees on each side. I did not touch the old toboggan as I wanted it to stay in its original, rustic condition. I used a one step stain/polyurethane over the new wood.

The shelf measures 6’ tall by 19” wide. I use it in our bathroom for towels and toilet paper. You can use it in a hall, foyer, or just about anywhere you would want an accent piece.
