Door County Polar Bear Swim

January 1st - Are you a brave soul (or just a little bit touched)? If so, you should participate in the Annual Jacksonport Polar Bear Club Swim at Lakeside Park on January 1st.

Each year on New Year’s day, daring folks gather on the beach to take a brisk – icy dip in Lake Michigan. It sounds crazy, and you'd never get me to do such a thing, but many folks enjoy this event.

It looks like some people would do anything to rid themselves of cabin fever! ;-)

Countdown begins right before 12:00 noon. This is a free event but everyone must sign a release form. For more information, go to: http://www.doorbell.net/pbc

Door County Parade

New Year’s Day – What are you doing on January 1st? While some are using this time to recover from the previous night’s libations, others are gathering downtown in Egg Harbor for the New Year’s Day Parade. It begins at 1:00 pm rain, sleet, snow or shine!
