The Japanese house is an architectural curiosity filled with other curiosities like musical instruments that play themselves, the world's largest indoor carousel and a room that is a nautical exhibit featuring a whale-like sea creature. The house resembles the style of Frank Lloyd Wright, who was greatly admired by Mr. Jordan. However, the master architect rebuffed Jordan, after he was asked to review one of Jordan's architectural plans.

Wright was harsh in his review of Jordan's work, which prompted Jordan to build the bizarre work out of spite, which is now an Attraction, and Inn and a Resort.

During the regular season at the House (May 1st - November 1st), you can take your pick of three different tours, which cover different areas of the property. The tours are self-paced and self-guided, so you can take your time and explore every nook and cranny of this amazing attraction. This means you can return several times and see a different section each time.

Now the Resort features a 27 hold championship golf course, a fitness center two indoor pools, with whirlpool, steam room and sauna. There is an outdoor pool with a whirlpool as well. You can hike or bike the eighteen miles of trails or play volleyball or tennis on the courts.

There are eighty luxury suites with attached private patios/balconies, meeting facilities for a getaway or there are condos for purchase. Dining is available at the picturesque Grandview Restaurant or Turn Pub and Grill. Golfers have the option of the catching something on the run at the snack bar.

The Inn has 114 rooms over four stories and its own set of amenities. There is a lounge for your evening cocktail, an indoor pool with whirlpool and children's play pool. There is even a fitness center for the adults and arcade for the older kids.

Whatever your purpose for visiting the Dells area, The House on the Rock is one attraction that will thrill and amaze while offering you a place to sleep.

Visit for a day, night, weekend or week. The pastoral views and peaceful natural setting will relax you and lure you back time and again.
