Marshmallows in the field....

We were on a day trip to Crystal Cave. I remember going there as a child and my boys were excited to go as well.
My husband and I were in the front seats of the van and the boys, Taylor who was 9 at the time and Jordan who was 5 at the time were in the back.
We were making idle chit chat, commenting on the fields, cows, sites along the way. Thrown in was the occasional "Are we there yet" but we didn't mind.
We turned off the interstate and started making our way to Cyrstal Cave on the windy country road we were on. Suddenly, my youngest son Jordan gets all excited and starts squealing pointing out the window practically jumping out of his car seat "Marshmallows...Marshmallows...Marshmallows!" We looked out the window and in the field we were passing were round hay bales lined up in the field with white protective wrap on them. They did look like marshmallows!
He was so exicted that we had to stop and take a picture for him. We didn't want to tell him what they really were so we let him believe that they were in fact marshmellows. My oldest son was laughing so hard and then looked at me and said, "They really aren't marshmallows...are they?" I just smiled and so did he!
We had an amazing trip that day and lots of smiles together! To this day, Jordan still talks about the "marshmallows in the field by Crystal Cave" even though now he knows they are not what he thought!
