The first of our Wisconsin cabins is my sister (Billy Jo) and (Dale) her husband's cabin, is located near Minocqua Wisconsin and is 1700 gorgeous square feet of living space that was built in 2000. Dale designed and custom-built this cabin for their family and friends and now they offer it to the public for their own Wisconsin getaways. (As you can see from the photos, Dale is a wonderful craftsman). It is tastefully decorated with knotty pine accents and while it is described here as a cabin, it is actually more of a vacation home due to its size and plentiful amenities. This cabin sleeps up to eight.
The thermal pane windows in the first of the Goeke Cabins make it immensely quiet and cozy. Your friends and family will have plenty of room to kick back and relax after a day on the lake and the four bedrooms will provide a wonderful night's sleep. Two bathrooms eliminate congestion, ensuring an easy, stress-free morning. The living room/dining room/kitchen area is very spacious and its vaulted ceilings have ceiling fans to keep it cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
Grab a cup of coffee and head out through the sliding glass doors to the deck that looks out over the secluded wooded lot. From my own experience, this deck is a great place to sit and do some bird watching or just listen to the many unusual species of songbirds and wildlife that inhabit the Northwoods new Minocqua. Even if you want to do nothing, this is the perfect place to hang out and mend the ravages of the workaday world by reading, catching up on your letters or listening to music. In the evening, have a cocktail on the deck and watch the deer as they romp through the yard. They actually roam the area and frolic through the yard several times a day.
When you take a leisurely stroll down the lane, make sure you have your camera handy because you'll want to have photos of the deer and might even be lucky enough to spot a black bear as I did on my vacation there. Bookmark this site for more information on black bears and other wildlife that live in the area.
The kitchen in Cabin 1 of our Wisconsin Cabins is fully equipped with a full size refrigerator/freezer, electric stove and oven, microwave, coffee maker, dishes, pots and pans and for those of you who refuse to be slaves to domestic chores, there is even a dishwasher! This cabin has a rustic feel, but you certainly won't be roughing it. There is even a color TV with VCR/DVD player so you can catch a movie.
There is a knotty pine loft above and a basement below. The loft has additional sleeping areas and the basement even has a pool table. The washer and dryer will be appealing to those of you on lengthier stays.
Outside, there is a picnic table for family dinners and a fire pit for your evening campfire and s'mores. If you are looking for a fishing cabin rental in Wisconsin, the garage is large where you can clean your own catch of the day. There are two bicycles, fishing poles and a gas grill for your own Northwoods cookout.
My sister is a gracious hostess and intentionally keeps her rates unbelievably affordable so practically anyone can enjoy this beautiful Wisconsin cabins. You'll want to stay for a week or more, but shorter stays are available.
Yes, there are many resorts and hotels in the area, but you will have a hard time finding Wisconsin cabins with this kind of privacy, space and amenities for the prices my sister charges. That is why her Minocqua rentals are the best.

| "My family and I just stayed at the Goeke cabin. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about this cabin and the Goeke family, who we were lucky enough to meet!! Beautiful inside and out, big comfy beds (each child had their own room, no fighting!!) We were hoping to see a bear or two, but no luck...but shortly before we left, we did have a mother [deer] and two fawns walk through the front yard. Lots of great places to eat and plenty of entertainment. "So if you're looking to head north, this is the place to stay. We are already planning for next year. "Happy vacationing from the family that did not want to leave. -Richard and Dawn Gogert and family" |
